First Day in Barcelona (Sep 13, 2025)

After a long flight with barely any sleep, we finally arrived in Barcelona around 830 am.  Got through customs and took a bus to our hostel, Hostel Friends Barcelona.  I say "to our hostel", but we stayed on the bus too long and had to walk 1.2 km (0.75 mi).  With the temps about 29 C (89 F) and each of us with a carry-on and a backpack, it was a bit tiresome.  But it was worth it:

I've said it in earlier blogs---and it's still true now--we're not getting any younger.  So we did crank up the AC in the room and had a nap.  We then went out for a quick dinner and looked around a bit.  Our hostel is in the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, a major thoroughfare in town, but in a residential, somewhat less touristy area--which I like.
