Paris--the City of Light (Oct 11, 2025)

It was a rainy start to our next leg of the journey--Valencia and the surrounding countryside has been getting pounded with heavy rain.  Enough to have me concerned about the flight, but (spoiler alert) it was fine.

This is also a new airline for us--Vueling.  It's a budget airline based in Barcelona, and for a 2+ hour flight, it wasn't bad.

This is our second time in Paris.  The first was a two-night stay at the start of our Viking river cruise in 2023 (see It Takes a Viking) which--while I was glad to be there--it really felt rushed.  Now, we're here for fifteen days in an apartment in the 20th Arrondissement--and it started out lucky!  We were supposed to be in a small studio apartment on the sixth floor of this building, but we were upgraded to one on the first floor that had a kitchen.

It had taken us a while to get here.  We bought a metro ticket from Orly airport to our place (which has a subway stop right outside), but I got lost finding the transfer so we wound up getting an Uber.  So once we got here, we dropped our luggage and then went for a walk and some dinner.

That's all for today--I can't wait to start exploring tomorrow!
