The outline of the fortress are outlined on the floor of the station.

Sacre Coeur is a basilica in Montmartre. Construction began in 1875 and it was completed in 1914, just before World War I. There are commanding views of the Paris skyline from here and it attracts a lot of tourists--including us. Just like Notre Dame though, we were able to get inside (for free) this time.

After this, we went to walk around Montmartre proper (the basilica sits at the top of Montmartre butte). This part is very touristy, but it is interesting as it was home to many artists, including Van Gogh.
First we shared two crepes, savory for Fe (called a galette), sweet for me.
Wall of Love. There was construction here, so this is all I would get.

This is a very hilly part of Paris and we don't have the feet of thirty-year-olds' anymore--I don't have those of a fifty-year-old! So it was back to our place for dinner.
