Last Day in Dijon and Travel to Annecy (Nov 1-2, 2025)

I got up early to look around Dijon one last time and luckily the town market was open today.  We always like to visit these because it's a good way to see the local culture and also to see the differences between different cities (and countries).  They all have a common "look" to them though.

Street scene outside the market.  They're getting the Christmas decorations ready.

Lemon tart and coffee "Moka" I brought back for breakfast (I had an espresso first).

After breakfast, we started packing our bags, I brought back something for lunch, we packed some more, straightened up the apartment (took trash out, emptied the refrigerator, etc), ate some dinner, and then went to bed.  Next stop: Annecy.

The next day we went back to the train station--which also has a bus depot--to get our Flixbus to Annecy.  It was a long trip because the bus stops in Lyon first and then we transfer to another bus for the rest of the journey.

After about 4.5 hours we were finally in Annecy, a small town at the foot of the Alps that we saw online.  We're here four days, so we'll have plenty of time to explore.

Quick shot from the bus (it looked better in real life)

Annecy was one of our stays in a hotel, the Campanile Annecy Centre.

It's a small room, but the view is nice.

Again, we had heard of this town by watching YouTube travel videos and just from what I've seen on the way from the bus station to the hotel, I can't wait until tomorrow to get out and explore.  For now, it's dinner and then bed.

We left Annecy by bus ( Flixbus ) for the roughly two-hour trip to Lyon.  I'm glad we transferred here last week when we went to Annecy-...
