More Dijon Sightseeing (Oct 29, 2025)

You may have noticed that I like to get up early to get my photos.  It's usually a quieter time with less people around--and I sneak in an espresso or two.

Museum of Sacred Art (Monastère des Bernardines).  This is just up the street from us, but sadly it was closed during our stay.

Early morning street scene

Street art

"Sempervirens", Gloria Friedman (2013)

I see these all around Dijon, where someone used tiles to fix the sidewalk.

A typical French saying, I'll bet.

The Owl of Dijon.  People rub it for good luck (myself included), so after 300 years of this it's a bit worn.

Little garden park

Dijon was a Roman fortified town called Divio.  Plaques like these mark the old boundary.

St. Michael's Church

Carvings at the entrance

Church Altar

Stained-glass window

This was another slow day so other than looking for places to eat we didn't do much exploring--it turned out to be a dreary day anyway.  But tomorrow's weather looks better..
